The Warren Twp Library presents "Vastu Home Design" with interior designer Genevieve Mc.Dermott who will give an introduction to Vastu design.Vastu is the ancient Indian tradition of architecture, a system of design whose purpose is to promote well-being by constructing spaces in harmony with the five elements of nature: earth, water, air, fire and space. Together they work to bring health, wealth, prosperity and happiness. Some of the points that will be addressed in this presentation are: rules of Vastu, elements of design, the use of color and art and how to arrange rooms according to Vastu. Participants will be encouraged to work on their house plans with furniture placement and room color to achieve these states of well being.
Speaker's Bio: Genevieve Mc.Dermott is a graduate of Parsons School of Design. She studied furniture and design at Winterthur Museum and have lectured in Vastu design in the United States and Canada. She is an allied member of the American Society of Interior Designers.
