Abigail Adams: her life and times at Warren Library on Wednesday, 11/10 at 7 pm

We celebrate First Lady Abigail Adams' birthday with another fascinating and lively talk by historian Glenn LeBoeuf. The old saying 'Behind every great man is an exhausted woman' was never more true when referring to Abigail Adams. Mother, counselor, homemaker, farmer, friend and wife of one of the greatest 'Founding Fathers' of America....she endured war, small-pox, near-poverty and excrutiatingly long absences of her best friend, John. Her story is one of patience, love, friendship and stoic devotion to both her 'difficult', care-worn husband ...and to the cause of independence.
